Li-Mei grew up in Hamilton and graduated from Wilfred Laurier University in 2024 with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science with Honours. She received her LLB from the University of Sussex Faculty of Law in 2023 and is expected to be called to the bar of Ontario in 2025 after completing her articles at Mackesy Smye.
