Mr. Drake has represented clients with claims concerning motor vehicle collisions, slips/trips and falls, disputes concerning employment and disability, denials of homeowners’ insurance claims, small business contractual disagreements, and medical negligence and malpractice.

Educated first as a physician and surgeon, Mr. Drake brings a first-hand understanding of medicine and health care to his work on medical negligence and personal injury claims at Mackesy Smye.

Mr. Drake is a member of the Hamilton Law Association, the Ontario Trial Lawyers Association, The Advocates Society and the Medico-Legal Society of Toronto.

He has degrees in Life Sciences and Medicine from Queen’s University (Kingston), and he studied law at the University of Toronto.

He has appeared before judges and masters of the Superior Court and various administrative tribunals, including the Human Rights Tribunal of Ontario, the Health Professions Appeal and Review Board, and the Health Services Appeal and Review Board.
